Our legal nurse consultant duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Supporting healthcare providers, organizations, and patients by completing investigations for attorneys, physicians, insurances and accreditation organizations, health professionals, private investigators, and injured third parties through providing risk-prevention methodologies.
- Developing information for medical malpractice cases by investigating hospital, nursing home, physician, and nursing negligence claims; offering unbiased opinions, and determining the merits of legal or accreditation actions.
- Completing initial review and liability assessment of medical records; identifying health care providers; preparing documents for obtaining complete medical files and billings; organizing, chronologically summarizing, analyzing, and indexing medical records and billings; preparing event timelines; transcribing handwritten chart/record notes; preparing tables, charts, and graphs of data; recommending and preparing review documents for the expert advisory panel.
- Identifying potential witnesses from medical documents, locating, and interviewing them; suggesting deponents; scheduling and summarizing depositions; assisting attorneys in witness list preparation.

- Locating, identifying, obtaining, and providing a list of potential medical experts for consultation; researching their backgrounds and gathering their CVs; interacting with them and preparing documents for their review; maintaining reference notes on experts.
- Our legal nurse consultant services include completing medical research using personal knowledge and available resources, defining and interpreting medical language, procedures, and medical-hospital/office policies.
- Adhering to policy positions concerning federal, state, and local regulations, DNV GL NIAHO, and The Joint Commission accreditation standards; anticipating emerging issues.

Our legal nurse consultant, Dr. Cambria J. Nwosu, DNP, RN, LNC, CNOR(E), CSSM(E), is a registered nurse (RN) and is certified as an operating room nurse CNOR(E) and Surgical Services Manager CSSM(E) who is licensed in Arizona and through the Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC). As a Operating Room Nurse, Dr. Nwosu has experience in both the Circulating Nurse and Scrub Nurse roles in these specialties:

Dr. Nwosu works full-time in teleneurology as a Director of Practice Administration for a national telemedicine company. Her expertise in neurology includes emergent stroke care and inpatient neurology. She obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Chamberlain University School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Nwosu's DNP concentrates on Healthcare Administration - Nurse Executive.
Dr. Nwosu was Chair for CCI (Competency and Credentialing Institute) and is responsible in part for making final decisions concerning nurse credentialing as a part of the certification council.
